What is Envision EEB?
About Envision EEB
Envision EEB is a program organized by the EEB DEI Committee with the goal of ameliorating disparities in access to graduate education in Biological Science for historically excluded minorities. The program provides students and recent undergraduates interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, information about the application process, how to apply for grants and/or fellowships to fund their graduate research (e.g., NSF GRFP), and an early opportunity to network with potential advisors.
The program consists of a few (2–3) online meetings to prepare for the weekend-long visit to MSU in September. During the visit, students not only learn more about graduate school but also participate in a series of panels and workshops to develop and improve their application materials. Additionally, the weekend is also a unique opportunity for prospective students to meet faculty, post-docs, and graduate students in EEB that would become their peers and potential collaborators!
Building on the success of previous iterations, in September 2024, Envision EEB will host its 4th cohort of students in East Lansing! Since 2021, several program alumni have successfully applied to graduate programs both at MSU and other institutions, started their degrees, and obtained prestigious fellowships to fund their studies. We look forward to meeting this year’s cohort!
**Important Note: All travel and boarding expenses will be covered by the program.**
Please contact Carol Waldmann Rosenbaum with any questions regarding the application process.
